WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT BIBLE JOURNEY

Bible Journey is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to understand the biblical narrative and how it continues to have relevance today. This resource is an excellent companion and can serve as a quick overview of key themes in Scripture or a great introduction to studying the Bible a coherent narrative. It’s a journey worth taking!”

—Matt Lucas, D.A. | President/CEO, Our Daily Bread Ministries

“In Bible Journey, Bryan Dolan illustrates the power of the Bible as the Word of God, and the architecture of the Bible as a historical document written through the millennium with a singularity of purpose ... to teach the character of triune God. He writes with the wisdom of a teacher who remains a lifelong student. The reader who is new to the Bible and the one who has studied it at length will gain knowledge of the story and personal application to their story. We believe it to be one of the most important books we have read in the past decade.”

FOREWORD from Jerry Pattengale, Senior Advisor to the President, Museum of the Bible

You have before you the words of someone with significant but hidden fingerprints on the world stage. Bryan Dolan stepped away from a key role in designing nuclear power plants to write what you’re reading. Yes, quite a contrast on the surface, but both efforts involvestewarding and structuring powerful information.

As you begin to discover the book’s richness and its progression and logical design, you will catch a glimpse of his structured genius—and the genius of the book’s structure.

I have known Bryan for years and followed closely Bible Journey’s development as an advisor. His partner is also brilliant—Dr. Tim Laniak. Though having a Harvard PhD in biblical studies doesn’t guarantee one’s worthwhile contribution, in this case there’s an obvious correlation. From the selection of the section topics to the packed appendices, you’ll find the best of both minds at work.

Like the fictional Max Montoya of Princess Bride, Bryan has given the long sunset of his life’s best energies to this effort—including both his wealth and wisdom. Bryan also brings to mind a non-fictional character who also put kingdom causes over personal wealth, that is, the heralded non-missionary William Borden. Bryan and his wife Joyce, like Borden, have become rather single-minded about Bible Journey. Borden allegedly wrote three words in the back of his Bible at three different times before his early death in 1913, at age 25. “No Reserves. No Retreats. No Regrets.”

Borden passed a year before World War I began. This book, and the expansive Bible Journey curriculum, comes to us at another important crossroads in history—a culture war that is attacking not only the foundations of our constitutional republic, but of the Christo-centric foundations of many institutions foundational for extended civility and meaningful discourse.

Bryan was proud to be a midshipman, trained at the prominent U.S. Naval Academy. I was fortunate to speak at its homecoming prayer breakfast, at his request, and saw its motto, “Ex Scientia Tridens,” Latin for “In Knowledge, Sea Power.” With this book and its program, you’ll find the manifestation of a related motto, that with biblical knowledge you’ll see God’s providence and power throughout history.
